Conduct Temperature Taking on Monday

One temperature taking exercise will be taken on the first period of the day in the classroom on Mon 14 Sep 09 only. The trigger temperature for all students is 37.6 deg Celsius. Please bring along thermometer on monday 14 sep 09.

Teachers’ Day 2009 on 31 Aug 09

There will be no concert but there's class celebrations.

The programme has been divided into the lower sec and upper sec categories. Each category consists of the same activities but held at different timings.

Lessons/recess will end at 11.15am, followed immediately by the commencement of the celebratory activities. The celebration will end at 1pm for the students.

Each class would be given a budget of $20 for the Toast! session.

Updated EYE Timetable Schedule

Please take note of all the important dates stated in the timetable and adhere to them. Examination Days are from 8/10 to 16/10.

Exams will still start on 1st Oct (Thurs).

On 1 Oct and 2 Oct, there will be normal lessons after the EL P1 and MT P1 exams respectively.

From 5 Oct to 7 Oct, there will still be normal lessons.

Actual exam dates are from 8 Oct to 10 Oct.

Ceasing of twice temperature taking

As MOE has observed a significant decline in the number of cases for H1N1 and influenza-like illnesses (ILI) over the past two weeks, and in consultation with the Ministry of Health, there will be a stepping down the precautionary measures from 24 Aug 09.

There is no longer need to conduct twice weekly temperature taking, with effect from Mon 24 Aug 09.

As such, morning assembly at the pararde square on Mondays,Wednesdays, and Fridays will resume with effect from Mon 24 August 09.

EYE Exam Commencement Date

Hope you all have a great time celebrating National day in School on 7th Aug:)~
Just an update to all that the start of the EYE will be 1st October 2009 (Thurs), which is 7 weeks from now and it will end on 12 October.
Do note that there will be another round of students for lateral transfer and retention during the end of the year, if you know what i mean..

Hope that doesn't stress all but instead excites all.:)

NDP Attire on 07 Aug 2009

All students are encouraged to wear red top on this friday 070809 in spirit of the NDP.

1) It is in the spirit of National Day celebration.
2) Red top should be of plain or simple design, bottom would be school pants or skirts.
3) No sleeveless top, no low-cut top, no singlets, no obscene pictures or words.
4) If students are not wearing red top, they should be wearing their usual school uniform.
5) For students with red PE t-shirt, they can wear that, but not those of other house colours. Remember... in the spirit of National Day celebration... not in the spirit of comfort, convenience or fashion.

Unity 1-3 For Eternity

Unity 1-3 was formed on 02 Jan 2009, 9 years after Unity Secondary School was established. Hence the name Unity1309 was given. The class formed on that very day comprises of 40 curious kids who will be embarking their first days of their lives as 1-3 students.

The 39 curious kids were as follow:
Carmen, Yongwei, Yani, Yvonne, Joey, Izyanny, Sabrina, Adilah, Izzaty, Raifana, Rose, Anqi, Petrina, Ziling, Cheryl, Yitong, Lysha, Jingyun, Lynn, Rashid, Alvin, Jiahao, Benedict, Benson, Yukun, Jiansheng, Guowei, Zhengdao, Zhenjie, Hidayat, Hendrick, Benjamin, Junjie, Leewei, Satvin, Junhui, Adriano, Adrian and Chaoan.
In term 2, Maru joined the big family.

The first two form teachers to head the class were Mrs Ong and Mr Jokel Ho.

The subject teachers were as named in the 1-3 Family Teachers.

The first batch of committee formed is as follow:
Chairperson: Hidayat
ViceChairperson: Petrina
CE Monitor: Raifana
Welfare Monitor: Rose
IT Monitor: Jiansheng

After several serious discussions, the committee was revamped and the new committee was formed:

Welfare Monitor: Satvin
IT Monitor: Jiansheng

Through the months of term 1 (Jan to March) and term 2 (March to May), the class was vibrant and full of energy. As usual, it was a roller coaster ride for most teachers teaching 1-3, with shares of ups and downs along the way. The class enjoyed several close moments together especially in events ranging from newspaper collection, helm trail, excursions and funfair. (See list of events)

In term 2, a third committee was formed due to certain reasons:

IT Monitor: Jiansheng

Even till the last day, the class was very energetic but the teachers were proud to be part of the class.
Oblivious to the news, Satvin and Maru were surprisingly being promoted to other classes in Term 3. They will always be remembered as being a part of 1-3 family.
Joining the big family were 4 new additions namely, Dennis, Hibriyah, Alfred and Favian. Thus forming the present (July 09) strong 42 member of 1-3 family.

With the changes in family, a third committee was formed:

ViceChairperson: Petrina
CE Monitor: Raifana
Welfare Monitor: Hibriyah
IT Monitor: Jiansheng

In addition to that, a new form teacher was added to the 1-3 family. She was Ms Chen Yi.

Till date (Mid July), 1-3 family was gelling and getting closer each day. May 1-3 stay United for Eternity!
